Develop Patience in a blink...
74-Excuse me? EX-CUSE-ME? Can you give me a couple of minutes?
-Sorry, I´m busy. I´m in a bit of a hurry, may be some other time?
…And a message life had for you missed another opportunity to reach you. What I just illustrated is the typical attitude of somebody running through life instead of enjoying it.
Not taking time to savor life brings as a result a very dangerous level of stress, not to mention the wasted energy. Most I-live-in-a-hurry-types have to work twice as much to compensate for the mistakes committed during a task performance, whichever this may be. Does this sound familiar somehow? I thought it did.
Paradoxically, I have entitled this article or hub “How to develop patience-Quicky guide” to get your attention. I am almost certain that the subtitle picked your curiosity sooner than the main title itself. No, my dear reader, I am not playing mind games here.
I am simply proving how much patience is needed in life by “selling” you a miraculous panacea, that panacea is none other than patience itself. Analyze this carefully: In spite of the fact that patience means a tranquil, confident manner of expecting things to evolve in their own time, unconsciously, people wished it were faster and sooner, am I wrong?
If gratitude is the key to unlocking extraordinary wealth, patience is the key holder. They can´t live without one another. Whether you like it or not, everything has its own time. Can a toddler jog? No, he can´t, he has to learn how to walk properly, but for that to happen he has to have mastered walking 101.

You must understand that running through life will end up in exhaustion with no benefits included. Very well, having tasted the “entrée”; Let´s move onto the main dish.
What is patience? It is described as the capacity, quality or fact of being patient. That`s a dictionary definition. For me, patience is the peaceful capacity of respecting the rhythm and timing of a situation or a circumstance.
Do not compare this concept to enduring, long-suffering resignation or forbearance because it is precisely this misconception that makes patience a hard to follow dance. Patience cannot be bought, traded or borrowed. It is not an easy to acquire virtue either. It is something you have to cultivate.
How do we go about cultivating patience? Let´s have a closer look:
· Waiting for something to happen normally generates anxiety.
Anxiety creates vibration, vibration that attracts its equal. Do not linger on this type of emotions. Take a deep breath through your nostrils, expanding your belly, exhale through your mouth slowly.
Repeat at least 3 times or more if necessary.
· Silence is a powerful force. Broadcasting what you are doing or expecting will add up unwanted vibration. I cannot stress this enough. Keep things to yourself! That way you`ll have control on your energy. If words or unwanted feelings show up, do not feel anguish. Let them flow through you but do not cling onto them.
· Remember that everything in life has a sequence. Learn to flow with it joyfully. If you force yourself you will create more damage than good. Should the moment you are facing be overwhelming,
take deep breaths, take a walk, play some water sound music, read some poetry, watch Nature, go stargazing. Anything that will take away your mind from the problem, and once calmed, retake the process of centering yourself.
· Not everyone finds it easy to meditate. This is due to the fact that meditation techniques can be cumbersome for certain individuals. If you fall under this category, there is an easier yet effective way of getting yourself into a meditative state.
· Sit down or lay down, whichever turns you on. Close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths slowly and relax. Think of a pleasant moment in your life, if it involves deeply felt emotions much better. Now, literally walk around the scene, see it from another perspective, as if you were in another timeline observing, then walk into the scene and become part of it.
See how many beautiful things you had, what you enjoyed, whom you shared with. Thank God or the universe for having had that moment in your life. Be grateful!
· Patience applied to any endeavor in life is 50% of the battle in your favor. The other 50% is timing, positive thinking and gratitude. Sounds too good to be true? Do not quote me! Try it yourself, but do try. Giving up easily is not trying at all.
How patient do you consider yourself to be?
See results without votingA few wonders that patience brings about:
· Patience is firmness not stoppage
· Do not push others around to meet your needs, let them be. You´ll be wanted around for your soothing presence
· Patience allows you to look beyond your nose, makes you more observant, relaxed and wise
· Patience does not relate to resignation. It goes hand in hand with hope and faith
· Climbing the mountain in a hurry will not let you see the beauty around you, reaching the goal isn´t the most important, what you learn in the process is.
· Practicing patience a few minutes a day every day, will make you serene and you´ll have clearer, relevant thoughts
As it is with any procedure involving physical and mental processes, be very careful when practicing these exercises. Do not try it in traffic; do not practice if you are under the influence of prescription drugs or alcohol. Do not practice during your digestion process. Do it alone, preferably in the safety of your house.
Cheers,
To your Success,

Great advice and good hub.
I'm so patient I can tend to take patience ---> procrastination sometimes. I have to watch out for that.
Possibly I think too much :o hehe
must say quite the title my dear. I thought fr a moment you made a mistake, but then I read it, very good.
Al: I like this take on patience! This statement caught my attention "If gratitude is the key to unlocking extraordinary wealth, patience is the key holder." Wow, its an amazing phrase, makes sense to me.
Thanks for sharing your positivity with everyrone!
Thumbs up!
You are so right and I am working on it.
Hi mystique, I will borrow your words "patience is the peaceful capacity of respecting the rhythm and timing of a situation or a circumstance"
I like the word respect and I like your take on patience, when you are patient, you dont grow wrinkles as well as you are not stressed out, let me add my thought also that sometimes when we want something we cant wait for the outcome -- and what you said about the rhythm -- tempo make sense. I also believe that if it will happen it will happen, making it happen is another story,,
hmm how about love hehe -- does patience count -- when for example you are waiting for somebody to love you, will you wait for it, be patient or make it happen hehe, just kidding mystique my kaibigan, Thank you, Maita
Hello, Al. You were very clever for choosing this title, so for that, excellent work right out of the gate! I used to meditate as a kid when attending the Buddhist temple with my dad, but seldom meditate nowadays. I certainly would like to change that, however. Meditation does nothing but good for the practitioner. Life's just too short to be in such a rush all the time! Thanks again, my friend.
Warmest Regards,
Dohn
Hi there Al,

You said it perfectly Al, I liked especially the key and key holder comparison, and walking 101. That's great man!
A very good reading with the always positive message inside. Rated and clearly stumbled. :)
A fine article, Al. I agree with you 100% and I put it into practice. I am in no hurry, my friend. I might miss something or someone. I am more interesting in the people I meet along the way. I love people. I want to recommend a book to you. It is called "Practicing the Prescence of People." Not that you need it. Just that you'd enjoy it.
Peace and Love
James
Loved the video. Thank you friend. And, true, true, patience; we all need to be the receiver as much as a giver. Great reminder for us really. God bless.
Thank you dear friend for this much-needed hub. Patience is a virtue, I believe, and those who don't have it, need to work at it, lest they miss out on important opportunities/experiences!!

ha, I got first vote. :) I did notice the paradox in the title, very good title!
This is wonderful advice, too. I do something I call 'semi-yoga' and it's grand meditation time and I like to think in a way it helps me with patience, as well.
