The True Meaning and Power behind the Lord´s Prayer (Pater Noster/Our Father)
73I have always been fascinated by the Power that emanates from this prayer. It is true Light in all its magnificence. I wondered why being so powerful, some people take it for granted.
I decided to go back to the original source in Aramaic and deepen within its Holy meaning. I am not here to question you, nor how you pray it, nor how you should pray it and believe in it.
As usual, the choice is yours and I shall not intend to influence it. Whatever your decision might be, will directly derive from your heart. I am here just to share a viewpoint and to give you my feelings about it.
So, please, refrain to write offensive comments, or belittling ones. I respect your viewpoint and I expect you to do the same. Share your opinions without ill-intent, for the absolute Truth lies within the Heart of God…
Warmest hugs and infinite heavenly blessings,
I LOVE YOU ALL,

Did you have any knowledge of the True meaning of The Lord´s Prayer?
See results without votingToday´s "Our Father" has been so oversimplified that the deepest meaning of its original intent has been lost. The reasons why and how the religious powers of inquisition times burned much of the original material, how the Essene Teachings were cloaked from the average person, and how that started a half truth to become "whole", are completely irrelevant now.
Whosoever takes sides with these atrocious practices of medieval religion, is stuck on those centuries. The original Lord´s Prayer in ancient Aramaic has been translated by different qualified scholars, and the concept is pretty consistent with the Spiritualistic approach of this new century and millennium.
It is time to stop trying to own the truth, for no particular religion owns it. It is so sad to see our human brothers and sisters fighting over a reason when the most important thing is to love thy neighbor as yourself and recognize his/her godliness within.
How ego-driven is to see religious authorities rise themselves above others and claim to have the truth. A Muslim is my brother/sister just as much as an Atheist is. Who gave the rights to ANYONE to pass judgment? Who said Christians own the truth? They do! Who said Muslims own the Truth? They do! Who said Buddhists own the truth? They do!
I could go on and on and conclude that no particular religion recognizes others´ religion as valid. There is a compulsive desire of lecturing others about the Truth and not respecting people´s choices. Christ, Buddha, Mohammad, Amaterasu, Arjuna, Mother Tonazin, Kwan Yin, are all representations of the Divine Impersonalities of the Most High.
Whether you agree with what I have just said or not, does not make it less real, and as always, I shall respect your opinions in the matter. Do not be deceived by the lower self´s pride, taking as an offense that whoever you believe in isn´t the Real God, because all of them are ONE and the same and until you do not admit that this is the ultimate truth you shall wander endlessly in search of what you believe to be the Truth.
There is another translation from ancient Aramaic that truly praises the Most High´s infinite love and benevolence. We shall discuss it compared to today´s version of the Lord´s Prayer(Our Father).
The Lord´s Prayer, from the original Aramaic
Translation by Neil Douglas-Klotz in Prayers of the Cosmos
O Birther! Father- Mother of the Cosmos
Focus your light within us - make it useful.
Create your reign of unity now-
through our fiery hearts and willing hands
Help us love beyond our ideals
and sprout acts of compassion for all creatures.
Animate the earth within us: we then
feel the Wisdom underneath supporting all.
Untangle the knots within
so that we can mend our hearts ' simple ties to each other.
Don't let surface things delude us,
But free us from what holds us back from our true purpose.
Out of you, the astonishing fire,
Returning light and sound to the cosmos.
Amen.
The Throne of God
The Power behind the original words
Our Father, which art in heaven, (O Birther! Father- Mother of the Cosmos) (Oh Thou, from whom the breath of life comes, who fills all realms of sound, light and vibration.)
The original text from ancient Aramaic, which incidentally, the Christ used in his Holy Prayer, expresses fully the grandeur of The Great Architect. The modern words are simply repeated out of habit, never internalized, just too simplistic, considering who they are directed to.
Hallowed be thy name; (May Your light be experienced in my utmost holiest.) (Focus your light within us - make it useful.)
It is the ultimate goal to become one with the Light of God, "my utmost holiest" refers to the godliness within each one of us and the temple(our physical body) which holds the Inner Christ. We do not sanctify God´s name by saying it, we honor his/her Glory by letting our image and likeness of God guide our lives towards our true purpose.
Thy kingdom come; ( Your Heavenly Domain approaches.) ( Create your reign of unity now through our fiery hearts and willing hands )
The modern version would seem as a very simple request, but the Aramaic texts truly bring forth our true devotion. Fiery hearts containing the Sacred Three Fold flame, Blue of Power and faith, Yellow-Gold of Divine Wisdom and strong Pink of Divine love. Willing hands, meaning by conscious choice. Create your reign of unity. We are children of the same Father-Mother-Creator, disunity is unjustified and it is a human error.
Thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.( Let Your will come true - in the universe (all that vibrates), just as on earth (that is material and dense). )
The concept of heaven and earth refers to a level of consciousness, where heaven represents the Spirit world and earth the physical plane. We cannot go around saying such a Sacred plea without fully understanding what we are portraying. This means total surrender to God´s Will.
Give us this day our daily bread. (Give us wisdom (understanding, assistance) for our daily need, Help us love beyond our ideals).
Not only out of bread man lives. It is such a meager connotation to think that it refers to physical food, when we know that life as a human being is transitory and only the Spirit is immortal. It is a humble plea for illumination and guidance on a daily basis.
And forgive us our trespasses, (detach the fetters of faults that bind us, (karma)
(and sprout acts of compassion for all creatures. Animate the earth within us: we then feel the Wisdom underneath supporting all.)
We recognize here the importance of forgiveness, compassion and in doing so we let our inner Christ lead our path. That is what creates karma(debts) hatred, being unforgiven, selfishness, arrogance.
as we forgive them that trespass
against us. (like we let go the guilt of others. Untangle the knots within so that we can mend our hearts' simple ties to each other.) As we ask for forgiveness, we must be totally willing to forgive and forget. Only in that way we can recognize the Divine perfection within everyone of us. Not by judging or watching our temporary self, our human minds and feelings.
And lead us not into temptation; (Let us not be lost in superficial things (materialism, common temptations), Don't let surface things delude us,)
Temptation is way too general. Superficial things delude us indeed. We tend to give more importance to material things, basing our power and happiness in money and assets. They lead us away from the deepest things in life.
But deliver us from evil. (but let us be freed from that what keeps us off from our true purpose- But free us from what holds us back from our true purpose.) It is not a request to keep us away from the Devil or deceiver, whatever name you choose for that entity, it is deeper than that. Words without action are as nothing. We can be good, innocent and loving; but we are here to take action, to do things, not just to be. We must give love, reflect it in everything we do through action, not passiveness.
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. (From You comes the all-working will, the lively strength to act, the song that beautifies all and renews itself from age to age.-Out of you, the astonishing fire, Returning light and sound to the cosmos.)
We have been taught by the power of word and thought to generate high vibrations to attract great things. "Kingdom, power and glory" are words hard to digest, the encompass far too many meanings. However, by recognizing that the true will, the strength to act, the wonders of life, come from the Holy fire, the Cosmos, the Creator Him/herself, we evoke a very specific and distinctive power within us.
Amen (Sealed in trust, faith and truth.(I confirm with my entire being)
The word "Amen" has been taken for granted so frequently, that it´s become another "repetitious" closing remark, but if we Say "Sealed in trust, faith and truth.(I confirm with my entire being)" we are invoking the power of commitment, the true Arch of Covenant with Our Maker, Our Creator, Our Father-Mother-God
I´d like to thank from my heart Jon Marc for his beautiful interpretation of the Lord´s Prayer. Very special thanks for the courtesy of all the pictures used in this video and a very, caring, loving special thanks to Sage Williams for her picture "The Tree of Life"
I LOVE YOU ALL,
Al
If you have prayed "Our Father" before, you must remember what it feels like! I urge you to try and pray the original from Aramaic, not the modern version. Follow these instructions:
- Relax
- Take a few deep breaths
- Put your mind blank
- Listen carefully as you watch the video of the Aramaic version
- Close your eyes
- put your hand on your heart
- Open your eyes
- Pray the following words with faith and respect
Oh Thou, from whom the breath of life comes,
who fills all realms of sound, light and vibration.
May Your light be experienced in my utmost holiest.
Your Heavenly Domain approaches.
Let
Your will come true - in the universe (all that vibrates)
just as on earth (that is material and dense).
Give us wisdom (understanding, assistance) for our daily need,
detach the fetters of faults that bind us, (karma)
like we let go the guilt of others.
Let us not be lost in superficial things (materialism, common temptations),
but let us be freed from that what keeps us off from our true purpose.
From You comes the all-working will, the lively strength to act,
the song that beautifies all and renews itself from age to age.
Sealed in trust, faith and truth.
(I confirm with my entire being)
Warmest regards and infinite heavenly blessings,
I LOVE YOU ALL,
Al

This is a great hub topic! We should break down more items we say so routinely like this! Thank you for your insight and thoughts on this prayer!
hello my dear- as always you have some unique views on what most people would think are something which they grew up with. As always interesting.
Keep it up.. and smile.
father-mother lol.. i prefer and believe in the talmud version as a metaphoric prayer it suffices in so many ways and doesn't conflict with bible truths.
Our father who art in heaven
(realize that we are lowly and that god exists elsewhere)
hallowed be thy name
(god is holy and to be reverenced)
[These two passages work to beat down our egos and humble us before a divine god]
Thy kingdom come
(The end of all things speedily arrive)
Thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven
(God rules all, gods will is important not our will)
Give us this day our daily bread
(we live by each day and each day is gods and he supplies all for us continually)
and forgive us our trespasses
(thank jesus for the work on the cross and give us confidence to continue in his ways)
and lead us not into temptation
(help us be sinless whatever it takes, make our paths straight)
But deliver us from evil
(god delivers us, it is his spirit in us that keeps us from sinning and temptation powerless before us)
For thine is the kingdom the power and the glory for ever and ever, amen
(another humbling realization, who owns the kingdom, power and deserves the glory)
jesus never once mentioned vibrations or karma. I dislike the aramaic version completely. That father-mother-god is just weird and so is much of the other version.
Interesting though but not good for doctrine or instruction.
Hi Al,
What a beautiful hub! You certainly gave deeper meaning to "Our Father". The Aramaic version is so powerful.
Thank you very much for sharing! You are an inspiration.
Thanks for the in-depth analysis of this powerful prayer!
My brother, AL. I believe the power behind the prayer. I think we have proved about that. As a religious person we never leave a prayer. All the religion have the same purpose. As a Muslim I pray every day and It good for me to give new spirit and pass this life well. I hope we all doing the same things. This is wonderful hub. You always knock our religious side. Thank you very much. As usual, I rate this Up.
Warm regard and Blessing,

prayer will work through God's power
Dear Al, The Lord's Prayer is beautiful in Aramaic! I have always loved the traditional western version and attempt to meditate on it's simplified meaning as I pray it. The prayer is a perfect guide for us to follow all our daily lives. Thank you for this lovely look at a perfect prayer. Peace, always...
I awesomed this but only because there's not a beyond awesome button. Reading this hub and the translation for the Lord's Prayer actually made my heart hurt(in a good way) Thank you for sharing this
Yes Sir-0 you got me with these lines here. I was wandering around the hubs and through Johnny, I found you. I love your here:
"How ego-driven is to see religious authorities rise themselves above others and claim to have the truth. A Muslim is my brother/sister just as much as an Atheist is. Who gave the rights to ANYONE to pass judgment? Who said Christians own the truth? They do! Who said Muslims own the Truth? They do! Who said Buddhists own the truth? They do!"
In the Lord's prayer, we are asking that our earth resemble heaven- "Thy kingdom come- Thy will be done- on earth as it is in heaven". And other things- but that's part. We are all God's children and we're from all over the earth. We've all found God differently. God bless you Sir!
